Pudgy is attracted to the Pekinese dog of Betty's neighbor, a rich old lady. To his disappointment, the lady calls him a "little nobody" and shoos him away. To cheer up the puppy, Betty sings "Every little nobody is somebody to someone, you're not just a nobody, you're somebody to me.". Pudgy later proves his worthiness to the lady by rescuing her doggy from a waterfall.
